A joint European journey
At Nord Pool we strive to pioneer power markets. It is an aim we are committed to, and we need the support and input of our customers to achieve it.
Where are we expanding to?
We are proud to have been appointed NEMO (Nominated Electricity Market Operator) in 15 European countries. This means we are expanding to operate and cover the whole Central Western European region as well as Poland, hence currently expanding into seven Central European markets: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Netherlands and Poland.
What offering can you expect to receive from us?
Providing efficient, simple and secure services to customers in these new markets, with a special focus on making our offering simple and cost-competitive, is crucial to us.
We will operate power spot markets, day-ahead and intraday, auctions and continuous. We will offer a full range of services that includes API, data reporting under REMIT and transparency reporting, learning tools and all other products and services that will benefit our customers.
We are bringing our “straight-through” approach; Nord Pool handles trading, settlement, invoicing and reporting under one roof.
Ultimately, you will be able to trade using the same Nord Pool platforms across all markets coloured in the map.
As we embark on the road to more competitive power markets, we will have local expertise everywhere we operate. For instance, we have recently established an office in Berlin to be closer to customers and other stakeholders.
When will we be operational?
We will be ready from our side in the fourth quarter of 2017. However, the exact go-live and priority order depends on the official processes around CACM implementation of multiple NEMOs.
Pietro Rabassi, our Director for Central European markets, and our Central European business unit team offer personalised service and customer care to create the best offering for your needs.
