Committed to Energy Dialogue, Heart and Seoul
Last month Nord Pool's Lina Masiuliene, Director Services, Strategy and Products; Julien Cossé, CSO; and Tom Darell, CEO, participated in the GO15 - APEx Joint Conference in Seoul, bringing together the world’s largest TSOs and power exchanges.
Discussions centred around pressing global energy topics including:
- The green transition
- Demand growth and data centres
- Digitalisation
- Market evolution
The team explored the challenges and opportunities these shifts bring to power exchanges, TSOs and market design worldwide, with Lina Masiuliene joining a specialist panel on 'The Future of Power Exchanges', sharing her insights from a European perspective.
At Nord Pool we are always grateful for the opportunity to exchange ideas with global peers and contribute to shaping the future of energy markets.
Get Back into the Flow
Last month we held our Nord Pool Academy dedicated Flow-Based Course in Stockholm with nearly 100 participants joining us, both at the Grand Hotel Stockholm and online.
It was a highly enriching day, filled with insightful presentations and discussions covering this important power trading development. We will be running the next course on Tuesday 5 May 2026 at the same venue.
Nord Pool at ASEAN
We were honoured recently to be invited by the World Bank, in partnership with the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), to present at the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF 2025) in Kuala Lumpur.
Martin Hergot Festøy, from Nord Pool's specialist consulting team, shared his insights during a discussion titled “ASEAN Power Grid Implementation Pathways – Drawing on Global Lessons to Turn ASEAN’s APG Vision into Real Investment”.
Martin focused on lessons from the development of the Nordic power market and how they can be applied to support ASEAN’s energy transition.

Update on Intraday Cross-Zonal Gate Closure Time
Nord Pool members can now find information on the current status of the EU electricity regulation requirement on all-TSOs to implement maximum 30-minute gate closure time for cross-zonal capacity to the intraday SIDC continuous markets here.
Nord Pool is a longstanding advocate of efficient, integrated power markets. We believe that enabling SIDC continuous trading between and within bidding zones closer to delivery, will increase trading opportunities, liquidity and market/cost efficiency. This in turn can lead to enhanced power system stability in real-time via an improved ability for market parties to more precisely achieve balance in the intraday timeframe.
Introducing Mandatory Auction Volume Limits
In our continued efforts to reduce the risk of members submitting erroneous orders into the day-ahead and intraday auctions, Nord Pool recently updated its Rulebook to introduce a mandatory requirement for members to add auction volume limits to each trading portfolio in the auction platform.
This requirement will take effect on Thursday 1 January 2026, applying to all day-ahead and intraday auctions in the Nordics, Baltics, CE and UK - members can start preparing now.
