Ringing the bell for Euronext Nord Pool Power Futures
On 9 April, we rang the bell at Euronext Oslo Børs to celebrate the launch of Euronext Nord Pool Power Futures together with our clients – marking a proud milestone for the Nordic and Baltic power markets. In today’s environment, having well-functioning and resilient energy markets is more important than ever.
The initiative has been developed with a clear focus on market needs. As Tom Darell, CEO of Nord Pool, said, what matters most to participants is “a long-term commitment, strong local presence and a deep understanding of the market and its needs”. The trust placed in us by our clients, and their continued involvement throughout the journey, has been central to delivering on that ambition.
Camille Beudin, Chief Diversification Officer at Euronext and Chairman of the Board of Nord Pool, highlights why this significant step matters: “In the current environment, having well-functioning and resilient energy markets is more important than ever”.
Thank you to all our clients who joined us for the Bell Ceremony, and to everyone who has contributed to making this launch a reality. The ceremony marked both a celebration of what we have achieved together, and the start of the next chapter.

Markets Surveillance Newsletter
As experts in regulatory compliance and best practice, our dedicated Market Surveillance team shares its knowledge and experience through a regular newsletter.
In this edition, Nord Pool’s Market Surveillance experts take a closer look at asset-less or proprietary trading. We outline the regulatory framework governing this type of trading and provide an overview of the benefits and risks that asset-less traders bring to power markets. In addition, we highlight a recent case in Germany, where the regulator found that certain intraday traders were betting against the balancing price.

We will round off the day with an aperitif overlooking Stockholm’s waterfront – the ideal setting for connecting with peers and thought leaders.
