The Nordic TSOs are, in cooperation with the continental TSOs, preparing to handle the solar eclipse on 20 March, 2015. Possible measures to be used during the event are being evaluated.
The Nordic TSOs will jointly prepare the Nordic system to manage any imbalances originating from shifts in the infeed from solar panel power production. This includes evaluation of the impact of the solar eclipse on the continental market and the associated effect on the Nordic system.
The impact on the market will depend on the actual solar radiation infeed during the event and the Nordic TSOs will inform the market of any potential measures taken to maintain security of supply before or during the event.
