Nord Pool is following the development of the global COVID-19 outbreak very closely.
Our business priority is always to ensure the smooth and efficient running of our critical business functions and processes. That means that we should, in all circumstances, successfully operate the day-ahead and intraday power markets – including market coupling through SDAC and SIDC. We have already taken measures to ensure employee health and business continuity.
From Wednesday 18th March Nord Pool will implement a deployment freeze on all non-essential and non-critical system updates. This freeze period will last until further notice. This action is a necessary measure to ensure robust operations and to reduce the potential for any additional risk to our customers and wider stakeholders in the coming weeks.
We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause but it is done in the best interest of our stakeholders.
We will, of course, resume normal deployment activity as soon as we see the ongoing risk abate and will keep you informed accordingly.
