Central and Eastern Europe

Rafał Staśkiewicz,
Market Manager
Rafał Staśkiewicz is Nord Pool’s Market Manager for Central and Eastern Europe, supporting customers across Poland, Czechia, Slovakia and Ukraine. He brings broad experience from both public administration and the energy sector, enabling him to help customers navigate evolving market conditions with confidence.
Rafał began his career at the Polish Ministry of Economics, working with foreign trade and European policy. This gave him a solid foundation in regulatory processes, public-sector decision‑making and the European energy landscape. He later joined the Polish Power Exchange, where he built extensive hands‑on experience in electricity and gas markets across spot and forward segments. Working closely with market participants during significant market developments, he gained a practical understanding of how structural changes affect day‑to‑day trading and operations.
Before joining Nord Pool, Rafał moved to the private sector as a Product Manager at an energy trading company, managing the full lifecycle of electricity, gas and emissions trading solutions for industrial clients. This commercial background strengthened his insight into customer needs and the operational realities of energy trading across different business models.
“My approach at Nord Pool is centred around understanding each customer’s situation and the context in which they operate. By combining experience from the public, regulatory and commercial sides of the energy sector, I aim to help identify solutions that support our customers’ goals and enable them to trade efficiently and effectively.”
Based in Warsaw, Rafał works closely with market participants and colleagues across Central and Eastern Europe. He speaks Polish and English. Outside work, he has a strong interest in history and politics.
