Nord Pool Spot has reviewed the fee structure and will make some adjustments valid from next year. The exchange will introduce a new settlement fee and the fee structure will be adjusted in order to sustain the high quality operations of Nord Pool Spot. The changes are done in order to achieve more predictable revenues for the exchange and to simplify the fee model for customers.
The changes are as follows:
Introduction of Settlement fee for all participants and a reduction of Settlement days for net sellers
o Introduction of a settlement fee of 0.0025€ MWh on Gross volume traded
o Reduction of settlement days for seller with one day (from T+3 to T+2)
The interest income generated from settlement cash flow has fluctuated largely in the last few years due to the volatile interest level in our markets. Nord Pool Spot therefore introduces a settlement fee which gives a more stable income situation. The fee will cover expenses related to the maintenance, development and management of the settlement system.
In parallel, Nord Pool Spot reduces the number of settlement days for net sellers which will reduce the financial income of the exchange.
Revision of Gross Bidding fee
The variable gross bidding fee will be raised from 0.0025€ to 0.003€ MWh and the fixed cap on gross bidding fees is raised to 150 000€ per year to reduce the cost difference between gross and net volume traded.
Harmonise rules on number of portfolios and pricing of Clearing Customer and Portfolio fee
o The new annual fee for Elspot and Elbas will provide access to all bidding areas within one country.
Today there is a portfolio fee for each bidding area held in Elbas.
o The fee charge for portfolios and clearing customer membership will be aligned to 1500€ respectively per year,
as opposed to 2000€ for Clearing Customers and 1250€ for portfolios today. This is to encourage the market
participants to choose between these options based on needs rather than price.
All changes will be introduced from 1 January 2011, see the revised price list .
