Nord Pool Spot has received the following message from Statnett SF:
In exchange information no 64/2006 it is stated that elspot area division for central Norway (NO2) will remain until further notice.
In order to maintain a high utilisation of the existing grid and the possibility for high import of power to Central Norway, the area will be kept as a separate Elspot area also for the coming years.
Thus the existing division of Norway into three Elspot areas will be upheld as defined:
- A southern Norway Elspot area (NO1) limited by the 300kV Øvre Vinstra-Vågåmo line, the 132 kV busbar at Litjfossen, and the 132 kV busbar at Åskåra.
- A central Norway Elspot area (NO2) limited by the 300kV Øvre Vinstra-Vågåmo line, the 132 kV busbar at Litjfossen, the 132 kV busbar at Åskåra, the 300kV Nea-Jerpstrømmen line, the 300 kV Tunnsjødal-Verdal line and the 300kV Tunnsjødal-Namsos line.
- A northern Norway Elspot area (NO3) north of the area defined above.
This will be the case at least until the planned new power lines are built and the associated grid capacity to central Norway is increased.
Statnett will thereafter consider if there still is a need to keep Central Norway as a separate Elspot area.
